For those of you not familiar with Loot Crate, here’s a little background…If you are a fan of pop culture or scifi/fantasy, you’ll love Loot Crate. It’s a monthly subscription service that sends you a box of cool products specifically for geeks and gamers alike. Included every month is $40 worth of products and/or redeemable codes for less than $20 per month. They include a lot of exclusive items, which is a great perk if you’re a collector (past items have include POP! Figurines, action figures, and replicas).
Each month is a different theme, which they announce by the first day of every month. What’s included is a surprise, but they don’t focus on just one brand; so, there’s something to please everyone. There’s also an insider magazine with information related to the theme and products in each box.
Now, on to March’s Loot Crate reveal!
This month’s box was one of the coolest ones they’ve had in a while. It included a one-of-a-kind James Bond inspired t-shirt. What a sad little Bond….
It also had an exclusive “Orphan Black” comic book from IDW. Are you a fan of the series? It’s trippy. BBC does such a good job with Scifi and Fantasy shows. I still miss the original “Being Human”.
This is probably my favorite item – a stealth wrist watch. You have to tap it to see the time….”I’d tap that!”
There was also a Loot Crate exclusive replica of the identification badges worn by the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Another interesting item included was this Loot Crate inspired paracord bracelet. If you aren’t familiar with these bracelets, they’re more than just accessories. They can be taken apart and used in multiple life-saving ways. Mr. Awesome was happy to find out it could be used as a tourniquet.
Also included were two field note pads of paper, spy themed Mad Libs, the Covert Loot Crate Magazine, and a code for Ninjak #1.
As always, there was a Loot Crate “badge” included.
Now, here’s what makes this month’s Loot Crate extra special. It included a treasure hunt of sorts, starting with the box. Now, I couldn’t get the QR code to work. My phone didn’t want to read it, but the bit.ly link did work for me. I made it past the second clue, but my phone froze up on the second one and I haven’t had the chance to try it on my computer (too much writing and mommy stuff!). But good job to all of you who have made it through the series of clues and gotten to the end. I heard Loot Crate is sending you something?
