ALDI – Wilmington, NC
Recently, Influenster gave me the opportunity to try out the newly expanded line of Little Journey baby products exclusive to the ALDI grocery chain. Included in the line is a myriad of formulas (ranging from infant to toddler), diapers in sizes newborn to training pants, wipes, baby wash, organic food pouches in fruit and vegetable combinations, and three types of snacks in a variety of flavors.
I exclusively breastfeed, so I did not test the formula, which ALDI claims meets strict FDA standards. However, I did (or rather my daughter) got to try the Apple Banana – Strawberry with Yogurt Pouch. These pouches have no artificial colors or flavors. They’re made without genetically engineered ingredients and contain vitamin C. The packaging is BPA-free and easy to transport (useful for when you need to run errands). The pouch must have tasted great, because it was empty in less than 5 minutes!
In addition to the pouch, we received two containers of puffs – banana and blueberry. My first-born ate a lot of the Gerber puffs when she was learning to feed herself. The Little Journey versions are just as tasty and easy to dissolve as the name brand. They’re also in shapes that are easy for little fingers to handle.
I also received samples of the diapers and wipes. My girls have used Pampers Diapers ever since my first was born. We tried other brands, but they didn’t hug her legs enough and she often had blowouts. The Little Journey diapers have a stretchable waist and side panels, dual leg cuffs, and 12-hour leakage protection, all of which help with blowouts. They also have a weakness indicator, vitamin e, and aloe to keep your baby’s skin healthy. They’re very comparable to Pampers.
The wipes are also very good quality. We usually use Huggies, so that’s what I compared them to. They’re hypoallergenic and have 3 layers of quilted softness. I really like them because of how thick they are. They’re thicker than Huggies and won’t tear with normal use. They’re my favorite of the products I received.
Finally, I tried the Little Journey Baby Wash on my first-born. I chose her because she hasn’t been able to use anything other than Aveeno baby products. Johnson & Johnson in particular gave her a rash. So I was happy to find that was not the case with Little Journey brand. The baby wash is hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and free of parabens, pthalate, and quarternium-15. She had absolutely no reaction.
Overall, I am very impressed by the ALDI Little Journey baby line. I’m just disappointed that we have yet to get an ALDI in Wilmington. But rumor has it we may be getting one in the next few years.
Disclosure: I received my ALDI Little Journey products complimentary from Influenster and am entering the Brand Challenge for a chance to win a prize.
