I was recently asked to take a look at Trading Game, an app for learning about Forex and trading stocks, due to my blog post about Stash. The concept intrigued me because I am in no way a stock or Forex expert and would like to learn more about all investment options. Here is my experience.
Trading Game is primarily focused on Forex or currency trading. It mimics the live market but doesn’t require any real money. Instead, you earn fake money to invest by completing lessons and quizzes.
There are 9 different lessons in the Trading School and 9 lessons in the advanced Forex University. The Trading School and a few of the University lessons reward the user with fake money to use in trading. The other lessons unlock advanced features.
The lessons put what you need to know in simplified chunks. They build on the lesson before and don’t try to over complicated the process. I understand they chose Forex Trading because it’s one of the most stable investment options; however, I wish there had been more stock info, as implied by the name of the app.
Once you have some funds built up, you can start Forex trading. This is the really fun part. It’s where you can test out your new knowledge and play with the market.
Not all of the trading options are open right away. You need to earn them through completing the lessons. It also operates on the same hours and adjustments as the real market. It’s easy to use, and you can see how other users are performing through global ranks. If you connect Facebook, you can also see how your friends are doing. A stats page helps you keep track of your performance history.
Overall, I found it to be easy to use and educational. It was a nice interactive way to learn more about Forex, and learning by doing and not just reading can only increase your understanding of any topic.
Trading Game is free and available for iOS and Android.
